2012 Final U.S. Senate Projections

- Scott Brown is going to lose in Massachusetts. At times during this election cycle He looked like he was
going to defy the odds and win a very blue state during a Presidential Election year, but it is clear now
that isn’t going to happen. Look for Elizabeth Warren to win by a comfortable margin.
- The retirement of moderate Republican Olympia Snowe coupled with controversial comments by
Republican Senatorial Candidates Todd Akin and Richard Murdoch have cost the GOP any chance at the
U.S. Senate. Had Snowe not retired and the two candidates from Missouri and Indiana been more
disciplined, the GOP would have likely captured the majority.
- The final Electoral College projection will be posted tomorrow. Romney has a good chance at winning
Virginia on Tuesday. If he does win the state, he is going to need a decent margin to propel Allen to a
victory over Tim Kaine. It is very likely that Romney will outperform Allen by at least a couple percentage
points on Election Day.
- Republican candidates have a chance in both Florida and Ohio. Accurate polls have both incumbents
below fifty percent. At the end of the day, the incumbents are likely to prevail, but an upset in at least
one of the two is entirely possible.
